Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an important research field in computer science. AI means intelligence exhibited by machines. In the recent years, AI has become a hot research area in both academia and industry. The course will introduce some basic concepts and methods of AI, and AI in E-Commerce.
E-commerce
| 5 hours
The course will discuss several key aspects of digital marketing, including social media, online advertising, and marketing channels, etc. Students will learn strategies and methods that marketers can use to operate successfully in today’s digital environment. We are going to show how digital technology has changed the traditional marketing activities. Business cases and simulations will make it possible for students to solve digital marketing problems in the real world. The course focuses on helping students recognize the role of systematic information gathering and analysis in digital making environment, in addition to developing an appreciation for the potential contributions and limitations of marketing research data.
This course will help students: -
Recognize the role of social media in making marketing decisions.

Learn key metrics/marketing research tools for data collection and data analysis in digital environment.

Lecturer information
Mr. Le Zhang (Adam)
Mr. Le Zhang (Adam) is currently the Vice president and Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Sichuan University. He has long been engaged in research work in the fields of bioinformatics, numerical analysis, high performance computing and data mining. Previously, he has worked at the Bell Lab (Chicago) & Lucent (China) Ltd, Harvard-MIT (HST) Athinoula A. Martinos Center, Michigan Tech University, University of Rochester in America and Southwest University in China.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computational analysis and modeling from Louisiana Tech University, and had his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School from May 2005 to Aug 2008, research in the fields of Mathematical and computational systems biology etc.
He has received a lot of research awards and funding’s such as Chinese national key research grant, Chinese one thousand youth plan, Chinese National Science Foundation,Excellent research award of Mathematical sciences of Michigan Tech University etc.
Ms. Yuanyuan Chen
Yuanyuan Chen received her BA in pattern recognition and intelligent systems from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2007, and then she became a lecturer for teaching and research in the Department of Computer Science at Sichuan University. She received her PhD in Machine intelligence from Sichuan University in 2015. Currently, she is an associate professor and master supervisor of Sichuan University.
Yuanyuan Chen is a director of Sichuan artificial intelligence society. Her research chiefly focuses on artificial intelligence. She has always been dedicated to the research of the theory and applications of neural networks and medical image analysis. She has published more than 20 journal articles in this field.
Ms. Fei Jin
Ms. Fei Jin is an Associate Professor at Business School at Sichuan University. She received her Ph.D. in marketing from Peking University in 2019. Her research interests fall within the area of social media, AI and decision making. She combines laboratory and field experiments as well as secondary data analysis to study consumers’ decision-making processes.
